Basheer Khan – Founder

Basheer has more than 15 years of strategy, policy and communications experience in both the private and public sectors. He most recently worked as Strategic Outreach Lead at Amazon Web Services, prior to which he was Private Secretary and Head of Office for the UK’s Deputy National Security Adviser. Other roles have included Private Secretary to the Chief Medical Officer for England and Senior Policy Adviser for Counter-Terrorism at the Cabinet Office.

During his critical government roles, he delivered numerous key projects, including the response to the Ebola outbreak, the launch of the MenB vaccine, the response to the Salisbury poisonings, the response to the invasion of Ukraine, and the State Visit of the US President to the UK.

In 2023, Basheer founded Abingdon Strategies to provide tailored and impactful communication strategies and policy solutions. He wanted to create a marked shift away from the “off-the-shelf” products currently on offer in this space, and aims to help organisations and individuals navigate the complexities of the modern business landscape in order to achieve their goals.
